Modern Terraced House

This client had a beautiful conservatory added allowing a full view of the garden area - which needed a rethink and some sprucing up. The client wanted a beautiful view from her conservatory and a space where she could eat al fresco and entertain friends and family. A keen gardener this client wanted to be able to do some gardening but required a relatively low maintenance garden so she had time for other things.  Click HERE for a more detailed description.

Victorian back garden

A split level garden with a bare and dark, basement courtyard area. A flight of stone steps leads to the raised section - mostly lawn with a few shrubs.  The client wanted an attractive outlook from her study window onto a seating area with lawn, planting and a shed in the upper garden. The planting was to be different shades of green with pale white and pink flowers in the main as the light in the garden gave these a translucent quality which looked beautiful in the garden.  Click HERE for a more detailed description.

New build estate

The clients are a couple with two children living on a new-build estate in East Lothian. Having bought the last house built on the estate, their garden consisted of very little topsoil and poor turf and as a result they felt a frustrating inability to grow anything much in their garden. They had a small patio area and a pergola already in the garden but were unsure of what to do with the rest of the space.

Georgian back garden

These clients are changing their back garden and in the first phase a large border on one side of their garden was to be rethought and enhanced.  The clients wanted to change the look and feel of the area from woodland to a more traditional style of planting, with a relaxed look and in keeping with the style of their house.

Modern detached villa with fruit and vegetable garden.

The clients are an elderly couple in a modern detached villa with a sizeable back garden. They used it almost entirely for growing fruit and vegetables, a life long passion.  The existing garden too much work and their daughter asked us to redesign the garden to make it as safe, stress free and as enjoyable for them as possible. As well as tending the garden, she wanted her parents to have an outdoor space they could enjoy and relax in, a place to entertain friends and family when they came to visit. Victorian Terraced house

These clients had a small front garden and wanted a very low maintenance garden that was formal but child friendly and that would complement the front of their Victorian house. They have 3 very young children so the planting was to be colourful and interesting but without berries or thorns. A practical but attractive screen was to be created to accommodate and hide dustbins and boxes and sandstone pavers and gravel that would complement the house were to be used.
